UCONN Zone Offense

(#1), (#2) and (#3) work the perimeter areas while (#4) and (#5) work the high post, low post and short corner areas.

UCONN Zone Offense

When the ball is reversed around the perimeter, the high post player (#4) will follow the ball. When the ball enters the wing players hands (#2), (#4) will break down the lane and to the short corner area. (#5) will break up to the high post.

UCONN Zone Offense

When the ball is entered to the short corner player (#4), (#5) immediately dives to the basket looking for a pass from (#5). (#4) will also look for a skip pass to (#3).

UCONN Zone Offense

On ball reversal, (#5) follows the ball across the top and then breaks down and out to the short corner when the ball enters the wing player (#3). (#4) flashes into the high post area behind the defense just vacated by (#5).

UCONN Zone Offense

On ball reversal, (#4) may elect to move across the baseline to the other short corner area. (#5) will read this and remain at the high post.

At anytime, the perimeter players may elect to pass and cut through the zone. They may stop on the other "short corner" area or break out to the corner.
